Are you a residential client or potential client? Operating a snow plow to clear driveways is no easy task. The trucks are big and the plow blade on the front is unnatural. Follow these tips on storm nights to ensure your property gets cleared effectively and efficiently.
- If you cannot park your car inside your garage then park it as close to the garage as possible and as close to the edge of the driveway as possible. Ultimately you want to expose as much of your driveway as you can and parking your car(s) plays a big help.
- Our drivers cannot see what is under the snow. If the driveway is widened or if there is a stone border or even a ditch at the end it is incredible helpful and even important to use driveway markers to show us what is there.
- When we pull the snow from the driveway we HAVE to stack it on the lawn at the corner of the driveway. This is a city bylaw. Make sure (if at all possible) there are no cars parked on the street at the edge of your driveway.
- We service many clients and as such we cannot memorize what everyone’s house or property look like. Therefore please make sure your outside lights are turned on and we are able to see your house number.
- If it is garbage day make sure your garbage cans are placed at least 5+ feet up from the edge of the driveway. Often people leave garbage cans on the corner of the driveway and this does not give us enough room to maneuver our plow into the driveway. If the cans have been emptied please remove them and put them away.
